Quizas Quizas Quizas

I was first made aware of the triple repetitive song title when I heard the exact same tune from Nat King Cole. Of course I got the order backwards since Nat was the original. The first version I heard was from Ono Lisa and the sound drifted past my conscious gate until roomie bursted out laughing and asked me what the heck I was listening to. She was looking at my msn display message which showed the current track ' 小野丽莎-浪漫嘉年华 04.应该 应该 应该 '. The exact translation should PERHAPS be '也许 也许 也许'. Spanish says 'Quizas Quizas Quizas' and the English says 'Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps'. Great song, without doubt. No more perhapses.

Quizás, Quizás, Quizás (Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps)

* Music and Lyrics by: Osvaldo Farrés, Cuba 1947.
* English lyrics by Joe Davis.
* Made famous in 1947 by Nat King Cole, who later recorded it on his Cole en Español album in 1958.
* Also recorded by Doris Day, Xavier Cugat, Mantovani, The Stargazers, Pepe Jaramillo & others.
* Featured in the 2000 Wong Kar Wai film, In The Mood For Love (starring Tony Leung and Maggie Cheung).

Original Spanish Lyrics:

Siempre que te pregunto
Que, cuándo, cómo y dónde
Tú siempre me respondes
Quizás, quizás, quizás

Y así pasan los días
Y yo, desesperando
Y tú, tú contestando
Quizás, quizás, quizás

Estás perdiendo el tiempo
Pensando, pensando
Por lo que más tú quieras
¿Hasta cuándo? ¿Hasta cuándo?

Y así pasan los días
Y yo, desesperando
Y tú, tú contestando
Quizás, quizás, quizás

Y así pasan los días
Y yo, desesperando
Y tú, tú contestando
Quizás, quizás, quizás

Estás perdiendo el tiempo
Pensando, pensando
Por lo que más tú quieras
¿Hasta cuándo? ¿Hasta cuándo?

Y así pasan los días
Y yo, desesperando
Y tú, tú contestando
Quizás, quizás, quizás
English Translation of Original Lyrics:

I am always asking you
When, how and where
You always tell me
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps

The days pass this way
And I am despairing
And you, you always answer
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps

You are wasting time
Thinking, thinking
That which you want most
Until when? Until when?

The days pass this way
And I am despairing
And you, you always answer
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps

The days pass this way
And I am despairing
And you, you always answer
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps

You are wasting time
Thinking, thinking
That which you want most
Until when? Until when?
The days pass this way
And I am despairing
And you, you always answer
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps

Yuri: Food.
