W. Graham Robertson & Wilde

J. S. Sargent's portrayal of W. Graham Robertson, an English artist and illustrator

Do you really live at Sandhills, Witley? Surely not Sandhills! You are made for olive-groves, and for meadows starred with white narcissi. I am sure this letter will be returned to me by post office.
I have written to you at Rutland Gate to tell you how sorry I am you have missed Paris, and how much more sorry I am that I did not keep you to your promise. I should have loved to have been with you-Sandhills or no Sandhills.
I send this letter into the air! Will you ever get it? I suppose not.
Ever yours, O.W.
